What this site does

When you submit your information, the team at ME Lawyers, APLC helps identify offices that may hold records connected to a death, prepares requests and supporting documents, follows up, and explains records that are obtained. A declaration under Code of Civil Procedure section 377.32 may be required to bring or continue a claim that belonged to the person who died. The proper claimant may be the estate’s personal representative or, if there is none, the person who legally succeeds to that claim. That question is different from who may bring a wrongful-death claim. This site does not possess or issue government records, and no agency is required to release a record that is confidential, sealed, or otherwise unavailable.
